The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services towards the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering companies for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency reported it can be alarmed with regards to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area daily. The service level designed for intervention ordeals a superior inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more sources to allow the servicing of all consumers and improve access to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
